Maple takes over as president of Indiana Pork

Nick Maple is the new president of the Indiana Pork Producers Association.

Maple, who is part of a family farrow-to-finish operation in Miami County, says he is looking forward to following in the footsteps of previous leaders of Indiana pork.

“I’ve had great teachers to get me to this point and I want to continue to express how important it is that Indiana Pork continues to educate people on what it takes and what it means to raise pork here in Indiana,” he says.

He says he hopes to get more people involved in the organization.

“There are a lot of people out there that could be involved that haven’t had the opportunity or the knowledge about what Indiana Pork is about,” he says. “I would like to bring that to them and give them the opportunity to maybe serve on the pork board or just have a greater understanding of what we do.”

Maple spoke to Brownfield at the annual Indiana Pork meeting in Indianapolis.
