'GoT's Lena Headey: Turning down Harvey Weinstein 'impacted a decade of my working life'

Lena Headey is looking back at her career, and believes it may have been different if she hadn't encountered Harvey Weinstein.

The "Game of Thrones" star, 45, has previously talked about two alleged instances with Weinstein: one in which he made "some suggestive comment, a gesture," which she dismissed, and another in which he allegedly attempted to lure her up to his hotel room.

“After he was discovered to be a slime ball, on a grander scale than me just knowing it, I did start thinking, ‘(Expletive), maybe because I didn’t shag him, that’s impacted a decade of my working life,’” Headey told the British newspaper the Sunday Times. “Because I did two jobs for (Weinstein’s production company) Miramax before those incidents, and after that there was nothing.”

The Times says Headey's career didn't take off again until 2011, when she took the role of Cersei Lannister in "GoT."

"Game of Thrones" star Lena Headey is speculating her career might have been different if she hadn't met Harvey Weinstein.

A spokesperson for Weinstein discounted Headey's claims.

"Lena Headey is a terrific actor with smart and resourceful agents, as her role for the past eight years on 'Game of Thrones' confirms," Weinstein rep Juda Engelmayer tells USA TODAY in a statement. "There was never anything other than a professional and respectful relationship between Ms. Headey and Mr. Weinstein, and any other assertion is absolutely untrue."

Headey joined Angelina Jolie, Lupita Nyong'o, Gwyneth Paltrow and more than 100 other women when she came forward with her allegations against Weinstein in 2017.
