Injured motorist rescued after rollover crash on Highway 126

Emergency crews early Monday rescued a motorist who became trapped when their vehicle crashed on Highway 126 in Ventura, authorities said. 

According to the city of Ventura Fire Department, crews responded to a reported vehicle rollover at 5:56 a.m. The crash was on the eastbound side of the highway at Wells Road.

The vehicle went about 30 feet off the highway and landed on its side. Responders used hydraulic tools to free the injured motorist, fire officials said. 

After 16 minutes, the motorist was rescued and taken to a local hospital by ambulance with moderate injuries, authorities said.
