Lincoln commission considers 'sanctuary county' status

Lincoln County commissioners are scheduled Tuesday to consider approval of a resolution establishing a Second Amendment "sanctuary county."

If passed, Lincoln would join a half dozen other counties in New Mexico which will not require county sheriffs to enforce a sweeping slate of gun-control proposals before state lawmakers.

Sheriff Robert Shepperd urged people to show up at the county meeting to let the commissioners know their views.
