LANSING - A 27-year-old man was in stable condition after being shot Thursday night on Lansing's north side.

The incident happened shortly after 9 p.m. in the parking lot of a party store in the 900 block of East Grand River Avenue.

The man was conscious when police arrived, Lansing Police Public Information Director Robert Merritt said. He was taken to the hospital with a non life-threatening gunshot wound to the neck area.

Police believe the 27-year-old was targeted, and that the shooting was not a random act, Merritt said. He was in his vehicle when the suspect approached and shot him.

No arrest had been made as of Friday morning, Merritt said.
