Surfers spot body in water at Indian River Inlet bridge: officials

Two surfers spotted a body in the water at the Indian River Inlet Bridge on Tuesday and called 911, officials said. 

Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control state parks enforcement chief Wayne Kline said rangers and medics responded to pull a female body onto the beach on the north side of the bridge.

Delaware State Police is conducting a death investigation, Kline said. 

Delaware State Police did not have additional information Tuesday evening because of the ongoing investigation.

The call went out to the Rehoboth Beach Fire Department just after 4:45 p.m. The U.S. Coast Guard also responded.
