Liam Hemsworth 'in hospital' as wife Miley Cyrus performs at Grammys

Liam Hemsworth was not in the audience watching wife Miley Cyrus perform with Dolly Parton at the Grammys on Sunday night for a good reason.

The Australian actor, 29, was in the hospital and had canceled a full day of press (including an interview with USA TODAY) earlier in the day for his new romantic comedy, "Isn't It Romantic"

Rebel Wilson, star of the comedy, broke the news to Extra! to explain Hemsworth's absence from a group interview.

“Yes, he texted us this morning — he was in (the) hospital overnight, so hopefully he will be fine," Wilson said.

No further details were given regarding Hemsworth's hospitalization. USA TODAY has reached out to Hemsworth's representative for comment.

It is not clear whether Hemsworth will attend the "Isn't It Romantic" premiere on Monday night in Los Angeles, which was slated to feature the star couple.

Hemsworth has gone on a full-tilt press push for the comedy in which he plays a dashing billionaire, appearing on "Live With Kelly and Ryan" on Friday to gush about Cyrus, whom he secretly married in December.

He did not attend Cyrus' performance at MusicCares Person of the Year concert, which honored Cyrus' godmother, Dolly Parton.

But Hemsworth did comment on Cyrus' outfit posted on Instagram. "Good God," he wrote in the picture caption featuring her sequined mini-dress.
