Police log: Man exited truck to confront woman driver then followed her in Chambersburg

Police are seeking information in a number of these incidents. If you know something, here's how to share it:

Chambersburg area

Jan. 20: Diontra Martin, 43, Mercersburg, is accused of shoving a Chambersburg woman to the ground during an argument at about 2:39 p.m. on Lincoln Way West, St. Thomas Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

Jan. 26-Feb. 5: Three industrial-size batteries were stolen from three backhoes in the area of 3611 Lighthouse Road, Guilford Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police. 

Jan. 31: Chambersburg Police responded to a report of a hit-and-run at about 7:25 p.m. to the intersection of East King and Kennedy streets. The victim said they were turning onto Kennedy Street from East King Street when a car struck their vehicle and continued west on East King Street. The striking car was similar to a Honda sedan and may have been green or teal. 

Feb. 1-4: Plywood and other construction hardware was stolen from a construction site at 235 Walker Road, Chambersburg Police said.

Feb. 3-4: A woman reported the rear window of her vehicle was shattered between 9:45 p.m. and 4 a.m. while it was parked in her driveway on Elder Street, Chambersburg Police said. 

Feb. 5: Pennsylvania State Police responded at about 10:44 p.m. to a property on Lincoln Way West, St. Thomas Township, where a rock had been used to break a glass window. 

Feb. 5: A woman said another driver got out of his vehicle and physically confronted her while they were stopped at a traffic light on Wayne Avenue at South Fourth Street, Chambersburg Police said. The man then followed her vehicle after the confrontation. The woman described the man as white, 50 to 60 years old, of average height and heavy build, and who at the time was wearing a black baseball hat with "Veteran" on it, jeans and a light blue T-shirt. He was operating a dark blue pickup truck, possibly a Ford. A white female was in the passenger seat. 

Feb. 8: Chambersburg Police are investigating the theft of Dyson vacuums from Target, and are seeking the community's help to identify a person of interest seen on surveillance video. The image shows a white man of thin build, with light brown hair and a receding hair line, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, jeans, and dark shoes. The man left the store in what is believed to be a white and gray Subaru station wagon. Police are seeking information to identify this man, who is a person of interest in the theft of Dyson vacuums from Target.

 

Greencastle area

Feb. 7: A Hagerstown, Md., woman reported that Austin Cunninghmam, 22, Greencastle, slapped her in the face during an argument and would not allow her access to her vehicle shortly before about 8:45 a.m. at a home near the 13000 block of Molly Pitcher Highway, Antrim Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police. Police responded to the scene arrested Cunningham and took him to the state police barracks. 

Path Valley area

Feb. 1: A Fort Loudon woman was uninjured after the vehicle she was driving north on Path Valley Road, Metal Township, at about 7:28 a.m. began sliding sideways on a curve, spun 180 degrees, went off the road and hit a mailbox and a tree with its driver's side, according to Pennsylvania State Police.
