Tennessee stays at No. 1 for third consecutive week in USA TODAY Sports men's basketball poll

The revolving door atop the USA TODAY Sports men’s basketball coaches poll has stopped spinning, at least for the moment.

Tennessee will keep the No. 1 spot for a third week, the longest continuous stint of the season thus far. The Vols were voted first on all 32 ballots and now hold the longest active winning streak in Division I, which reached 16 games after Saturday's defeat of Texas A&M on the road.

The next three spots remain unchanged as well, with No. 2 Duke and No. 3 Virginia having unblemished weeks while preparing for their rematch Saturday in Charlottesville. Gonzaga holds steady at No. 4.

Tennessee's Derrick Walker (15) and guard Admiral Schofield leave the court after the Volunteers beat South Carolina.

Streaking Kentucky has climbed back into the top five ahead of No. 6 Nevada.

A couple of results in the Big Ten caused the most significant shuffling.

Michigan falls two positions to No. 7 after a loss to No. 20 Iowa, and Michigan State tumbles four places to No. 11 following a home loss to Indiana.

No. 23 Cincinnati and No. 24 Florid a State join the top 25 this week. Buffalo, an upset victim at Bowling Green, barely holds on at No. 25.

North Carolina State and Maryland drop out.
