Police seek man who stole gold necklaces from clerk's hands at Chambersburg Mall: police log

Jan. 28: A "young white male" reached over the counter at the Piercing Pagoda kiosk at Chambersburg Mall at about 1:53 p.m. and stole two 26-inch gold chains out of a clerk's hands, according to Pennsylvania State Police. The suspect fled the scene and exited the mall near the old JCPenny store. Police said the items were valued at $749.99 and $639.99, respectively. Anyone with information should call Trooper Wachsmuth at the Chambersburg barracks (717-264-5161) and reference incident number PA19-115635. 

Jan. 31: Nobody was injured in a three-vehicle chain-reaction crash at about 2:47 p.m. on Black Gap Road, Greene Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police. 

Feb. 1: Nobody was injured after the driver of a Mazda Protege lost control and struck a truck at about 7:12 a.m. on Interstate 81 just north of Exit 20 in Greene Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police. 

Feb. 1: Nobody was injured in a two-vehicle crash at about 8 a.m. on Lincoln Way East at the entrance of a private parking lot in Guilford Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

Feb. 1: A 17-year-old driver from Falling Waters, W.Va., was uninjured after he lost control of a Chrysler Pacifica at about 9 a.m. on Lincoln Way East, Guilford Township, and struck a business sign, according to Pennsylvania State Police. 

Feb. 1: Nobody was injured in a two-vehicle crash at about 12:11 p.m. on Philadelphia Avenue, Greene Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police. 

Feb. 1: Nobody was injured when the driver of a Hummer lost control at about 1:30 p.m. on Church Road, Guilford Township, and the vehicle went down an embankment and rolled onto its side, according to Pennsylvania State Police. 

Greencastle area

Feb. 1: The driver of a Jeep Cherokee fled the scene after side-swiping a Hyundai Santa Fe that was legally parked on Lindale Avenue, Antrim Township, at about 3:56 p.m. while the driver was waiting for a school bus to arrive, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

Feb. 1: Someone driving a Toyota Tacoma lost control in the snow on Tanyard Hill Road, Lurgan Township, spun 180 degrees and struck a utility pole at about 8:49 a.m., according to Pennsylvania State Police. 

Feb. 1: An 18-year-old Fannettsburg woman was uninjured after she lost control of a Subaru Outback while driving too fast for conditions and crashed into a pole at about 1 pm. on Roxbury Road, Lurgan Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police.
