Stunning! Mom and daughter re-create celebrity, designer looks using paper, foil, plastic

Alya Chaglar's 5-year-old daughter models a re-creation of Lady Gaga's Valentino dress she wore at the Golden Globes .

Before her stunning re-creation of Lady Gaga's periwinkle Golden Globes dress by Valentino, artist and mother Alya Chaglar was inspired by another celebrity in a blue ball gown.

In late 2017, Chaglar saw a photo of Rihanna in a bright blue Molly Goddard dress. The singer/Fenty Beauty owner looked amazing in an off-the-shoulder dress with layers of tulle. White sneakers and dark sunglasses completed the modern-fairy-tale look.

Rihanna's ensemble sparked inspiration for Chaglar.

She decided to re-create the dress using only household materials. She posted the impressive reproduction, made from plastic garbage bags and tape and modeled with sass by her daughter Stefani, on Instagram and asked, "Who wears it best?"

"(I) decided to repeat her fashion look for my daughter using different materials on hand," Chaglar, who lives in Antalya, Turkey, told All the Moms via email. "The publication of that photo got very popular among the social net users, so I went on making a 'dress like a celebrity' photo series."

Since the 2017 post, Chaglar and her daughter have replicated dozens of looks worn by such iconic celebrities and designers as Nicole Kidman, Taylor Swift, Jennifer Lopez and Christian Dior.

Chaglar tags the photos #ahstefani (her daughter's name) and posts them to her Instagram, @SeaSunSteFUNNY, which has more than 224,000 followers.

A special mommy-daughter project

This photo series is just one of the things the mother-daughter pair does together.

Chaglar, who characterizes herself as a shy oil painter who loves fashion, genuinely enjoys hanging out with her 5-year-old daughter. And Stefani loves modeling her mama's creations.

"She's a natural poser," said Chaglar, 33. "She definitely has a modeling talent. I show her a picture and she emulates it easily."

That's obvious. Just take a look at the photos.

So how does Chaglar make these faux couture masterpieces?

Quickly and inexpensively, she said.

Each creation takes her 30 minutes or less to make. The price of re-creating a Valentino or Armani? Couch change for items like aluminum foil and newspaper.

"I use paper, plastic garbage bags, newspaper...If I need some different color paper, I get it especially for the new look. But normally, yes, I have all those things around my house."

Her creations range from whimsical to satirical. Some are just so darn spot-on, you wouldn't blink if it showed up on one of those celebrity photo galleries — except the gown is worn by a 5-year-old.

Her favorite posts are the ones inspired by designers Edda Gimnes (pictured above) and Moschino. Her fans seem to agree, making the Edda Gimnes podium model post her most popular with more than 43,000 likes.

But it's not the likes that motivate Chaglar and Stefani to keep this project going. It's the love.

"I love to read that we motivate people to create something or to spend more time with their kids. I got a lot of (direct message) comments saying that we make people smile and that is the best feedback for me."
