Mansfield Road business damaged in early morning fire

Shreveport Fire Department fire crews responded to the 9000 block of Mansfield Road Wednesday at 4:30 a.m. to a reported commercial building fire.

Fire department crew from Fire Station #17 were one of the first units to arrive on scene at 4:35 a.m. and reported flames and smoke coming from the roof of the building.

Firefighters were able to ladder the building and extinguish the fire. The business suffered fire and smoke damage to the heating ventilation and air conditioning unit that was located on the roof of the building. The fire was placed under control at 4:56 a.m. 

At the time of the fire there were two occupants inside but they were able to escape unharmed. The incident required the use of 10 SFD units/approximately 30 firefighters that were on scene.

The cause of the fire is undetermined. No injuries were reported.
