CORRECTIONS AND CLARIFICATIONS: The NBA clarified early Tuesday that Klay Thompson tied the record.

When Klay Thompson gets going, there might not be a more dangerous player in the NBA.

The Golden State Warriors guard was on fire Monday night, hitting 10 straight 3-pointers before finally missing deep into the third quarter against the Los Angeles Lakers. His 10-for-10 start beyond the arc tied an NBA record for consecutive made 3s to start a game.

The outburst was part of an overall hot shooting night for Thompson as he finished 17-for-20 from the field for 44 points. He was particularly lethal in the third quarter, as he canned seven 3-pointers. With his teammates trying to feed him, he finally missed at the 3:55 mark of the third quarter. He exited the game for good shortly after as his scoring avalanche helped blow the game wide open for the Warriors, who cruised to a 130-111 win.

Scoring in bunches is nothing new for Thompson, though.

Golden State Warriors guard Klay Thompson (11) celebrates after shooting a 3-pointer against the Los Angeles Lakers.

Earlier this season he broke fellow Splash Brother Steph Curry's single-game 3-point record by nailing 14 against the Chicago Bulls. Thompson also owns the NBA record for points in a quarter after scoring 37 in a 2015 game against the Sacramento Kings.
