Firefighters respond to chimney fire at Meiners Oaks residence

Fire crews responded Thursday evening to a fire in the chimney of a house in the Ojai Valley.

The fire was reported at 5 p.m. in the 300 block of North La Luna Avenue in Meiners Oaks.

The fire was contained to the chimney of the residence and did not spread to anywhere else inside the home, according to authorities.

All occupants of the residence were able to make it outside of the home and at least one resident was attempting to extinguish the fire with a hose, authorities said.

A fire investigator was dispatched to the incident to investigate the cause of the fire.

No injuries were reported as a result of the fire.
