Missouri Corn: Snow and rain will help make grain

The big snow in many parts of Missouri is helping move Missouri further away from the drought of 2018 and the dryness off late 2017. Gary Marshall is CEO of Missouri Corn, “I’ve talked to a lot of farmers over the last two or three weeks who received significant rains in December and early in January. So that coupled with the snowfall we have now – we’re a lot more comfortable going into this planting season which, by now, is really only a couple of months away.”

Farmers in the Missouri Bootheel will start planting in March with the rest of the state’s farmers starting in April.

Marshall says there’s a lot of corn in the bins and that’s why Missouri Corn supports and is encouraging the Trump Administration to develop new markets.
