Students at the Chambersburg Area Senior High School were evacuated from the building Thursday afternoon after a faulty sensor triggered a fire alarm, the district said in a news release.

The alarm in the weight room area of the high school went off around 1 p.m.

Officials said after the issues with the sensor were discovered and the building was deemed safe, students returned to their classes about 20 minutes later. At no time were any students or staff in danger, the release added.
