Wellness Fest in Thousand Oaks offers advice to aging seniors

Staff reports

Will I outlive my money? What can I do to stay active? How can I make new friends? Where will I live when I’m 80?

Seniors with questions like these flocked to the Goebel Adult Community Center in Thousand Oaks on Wednesday to get answers and advice — and their blood pressure checked, to boot.

The Conejo Senior Volunteer Program puts on this Wellness Fest every year. It’s a marketplace of sorts, where seniors can find out about services offered as they age and where they can get a peek at activities they might never have thought of before, like meditation, yoga and energy healing.

They can also get their glucose and hearing tested and their knees evaluated.

More than 50 businesses and public service agencies had representatives there.
