Tickets available for 10-course gourmet dinner to benefit High Mountain Youth Project

The White Apron Society chefs lend their talents to many community events and projects

Tickets still available for the "Eat, Drink and be Mine" 10-course gourmet dinner to benefit the drop-in center of the High Mountain Youth Project.

Event will romance the palate to benefit homeless youth.

Chefs of the White Apron Society will romance the palate to raise money for the nonprofit, volunteer project. The chefs will be paired with Noisy Water Winery wines, all for $150 per person (table seating) or $100 (bar stools).

The dinner is set for 6 p.m., Feb. 6, at the Kokopelli Club in Alto. All proceeds will go toward supporting High Mountain Youth Project’s drop-in center at 700 Mechem,  #14 Jira Plaza, which is open  from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., seven days a week.

The Drop-in Center opened in February 2018. Since then, more than 30 local high school youth have used the center as a secure orderly haven where they can study, get help with homework or just relax.

"The Feb. 6 dinner will help keep this good work going," project spokesman Pam Tomlin said. "It also is going to be the most romantic Valentine evening in town."

Tomlin said the group also is preparing for another fundraiser, the 2019 Great High Mountain Bed Race, which this year will be time-sharing Wingfield Park with the All American Country Music Festival.

"We think this will pump up the energy for both events," she said..
