Chris Lane, a rising sensation in the pop country music circuit will be performing at the Inn of the Mountain Gods Resort and Casino, Saturday, January 26, 8 p.m.

Lane first made his debut on the ever-popular television show American Idol in 2007 showcasing his amazing voice and strong determination to bring his well-tuned sounds and guitar stringing to a well-received audience.

He was born in North Carolina and was an athlete who played football and baseball in high school. However, after a few injuries to his ACL, he realized that his dreams of becoming a pro sports player may have met its demise.

It wasn’t until after seeing Keith Urban in concert that he asked his parents to buy him a guitar, and his career was under way. His focus changed from the world of sports to bringing his melodic voice to life on stage for all to hear while his words resonate beyond his dreams.

2008 was when Lane met Seth England of Big Loud Mountain Management that set his career off and running on his way to chasing stardom.

“There are so many different ways to start a musical career. TV shows are such a great way to do this. There is so much talent out there," Lane said.

The singer, song writer, along with his twin brother on drums, has made the Billboard Top Country Chart in 2012. A year later he moved to Nashville, the hub of the country music scene.

Performing with headlining bands such as Eli Young Band, The Perry Band, Rascal Flatts and Florida Georgia Line, Lane is a dedicated musician that gives his fans a performance filled with high energetic sounds bringing the crowds to their feet.

His hits include “Lets Ride”, “Girl Problems”, “Fix”, “Take Back Home” and his most recent album “Laps Around the Sun”.

“I never thought I would be a country music star. It is funny how things work out. I was in a cover band and it was then that I realized how important it is to know how to entertain a crowd,” Lane said.

With the music industry being a very competitive field and difficult realm to venture into, many have found it hard to make a name for themselves. However, not for Lane. He has spent many long and tiring hours focusing on his talents and a way to bring his soul to his audiences.

“I used to go to shows, live performances, and then would go back to the studio and write. All the time, as much as I could,” Lane said. “I want all my shows to bring that high-performance energy to the crowd.”

Lane's last visit to New Mexico was a few years ago when he performed with Rascal Flatts. His tour this year will be coast-to-coast bringing the sounds of his new album “Laps Around the Sun”, that has has over 100 million streams on the internet, to stages around the country. The 14 track album brings meaning to songs from his personal life and experiences.

“I am looking forward to this tour with so many amazing talents. This is going to be a great year,” Lane said.

In 2016 Lane hit gold for his number one hit “Fix” and top ten for “For Her". In 2017 he received is first ACM award nomination for new male vocalist of the year.
