Police log: Driver rolled over 4-5 times, struck PennDOT sign on I-81

Chambersburg area

Dec. 3: A driver fled after striking two mailboxes and another vehicle on Circle Drive in St. Thomas Township at about 6 a.m., according to Pennsylvania State Police. 

Jan. 6: Someone was found to be under the influence of alcohol during a traffic stop on Northgate Commons and Scotland roads in Greene Township at about 10:30 p.m., according to Pennsylvania State Police. Charges were filed through the district court. A police report did not provide a name.

Jan. 12: The driver of a Chevrolet Silverado was transported to Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown, Md., for minor injuries after striking a tree on Weber Road at about 9 p.m., according to Pennsylvania State Police. 

Jan. 13: There were no injuries during a crash in which a Fayetteville man lost control of the Chevrolet Cobalt he was driving and struck a curb on Lincoln Way East in Greene Township at about 5:42 a.m., according to Pennsylvania State Police. The vehicle was towed.

Jan. 13: Two people suffered possible minor injuries during a two-vehicle crash at about 1 a.m. on Interstate 81 in Greene Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police. The report states the driver of a Honda Accord lost control of the vehicle and slid which caused another car to strike it. The Honda then slid off the road into a bank where it rolled over on to its side.

Jan. 13: A driver in a Chevrolet vehicle fled after traveling off the road while turning left onto North Franklin Street, Hamilton Township, and striking a guide rail at about 4:14 a.m., according to Pennsylvania State Police. The vehicle was left at the scene. 

Shippensburg area

Jan. 11: There were no injuries during a crash in which Hyundai Sonata struck the back of another vehicle on Old Scotland Road, Southampton Township, at about 10 p.m., according to Pennsylvania State Police. The Hyundai was towed. 

Cumberland County

Jan. 12: The driver of an Infiniti Q50 was taken to Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill, for minor injuries after losing control of the vehicle, rolling over four to five times and then striking a Pennsylvania Department of Transportation sign on Interstate 81, Dickinson Township, at about 7:30 p.m., according to Pennsylvania State Police. The vehicle was towed.
