Double shot of snow late this week in central Pa. could include 'major' weekend storm

It looks as though snow is going to make a double-appearance in this week's forecast.

Meteorologists at Accuweather are predicting a mild storm late week to be followed by a potentially "major" snowstorm this weekend.

The National Weather Service in State College says a large portion of central Pennsylvania could see between one and three inches of snow during a storm late Thursday and into Friday.

While the first storm is expected to produce less snow than the one predicted for the weekend, travel conditions will be less than ideal. Expect the possibility of school delays, cancellations and slower, slippery traffic for commuters, according to Accuweather.

It is still too early to say exactly how much snow and ice accumulation will fall during the potentially larger storm this weekend.

According to Accuweather's report,"The storm coming this weekend has the potential to put down close to a foot of snow over a long swath in the Midwest and Northeast."

The I-70, I-80 and I-90 corridors could see heavy snow this weekend depending on the storm's track.
