A bird found on Singapore Airlines flight to London ruffles some feathers on board
Cydney HendersonA feathery passenger on a Singapore Airlines flight caused quite a hoot.
About 12 hours into a flight from Singapore to London last week, a stowaway bird flew into the Business Class cabin and made itself comfortable on the back of a passenger's headrest. (Without a ticket, of course.)
Footage of the incident showed a flight attendant attempting to wrangle the unticketed passenger to no avail, according to BBC, while ruffling some feathers in the process.
Singapore Airlines confirmed to USA TODAY Monday that the bird was eventually captured on the Jan. 7 flight. "It was subsequently caught by cabin crew with the assistance of some of the passengers on board," spokesperson James Bradbury-Boyd said.
The bird was turned over to "animal quarantine" authorities at London's Heathrow Airport, Bradbury-Boyd added.
It's not clear how the myna bird, native to southern Asia, ended up on the London-bound flight or where it spent the first 12 hours of the trip, but one thing's for sure: The bird won't be getting any frequent-flyer miles anytime soon.
