Chambersburg woman in jail after heroin, crack found in home, police say

A Chambersburg woman was taken into custody on allegations she distributed heroin in the Franklin County area. 

Mary Kenyatta Sellars, 27, is charged with two counts of felony manufacture, delivery or possession with intent to manufacture or deliver and one count of misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, according to court documents. She was arraigned and taken to the Franklin County Jail in lieu of $100,000 bail.

A narcotics investigation led members of the county's drug task force, Chambersburg Police and state police to execute a search warrant at an apartment on East Liberty Street in Chambersburg on Jan. 11. During the search, police said, they found "a quantity of heroin and crack that was consistent with possession with the intent to deliver," along with a digital scale, metal spoons, packaging materials and money.

Court documents state it was later discovered the heroin belonged to Sellars, who was also allegedly distributing it in the area. 

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Jan. 22.
