Erie police say the crime took place over a two-year period, from January 2016 until January 2018 when the theft was discovered.

Szparaga was an assistant manager at the store at the time, police said. She was responsible for closing the store and would take hundreds of dollars from nightly cash deposits and fraudulent over-ringing, according to ErieNewsNow. She admitted to the thefts, saying she couldn't afford her bills.
