Defenbaugh family hosts first IL pig barn open house of 2019

The Defenbaugh family of Livingston County in north central Illinois is the first to hold a pig barn open house in this new year. They welcomed visitors to their newly built wean-to-finish facility that will hold almost 2500 head of hogs and diversify their operation by allowing their children to grow up around livestock.

The Illinois Pork Producers Association says the barn has new technology such as automatic fans and ventilation, 24/7 access to feed and water and a controlled environment.
