Police log: Woman accused of reporting to probation with drugs

Chambersburg area 

Dec. 7: Kayla Renea Appleby, 28, was charged with one count misdemeanor theft by unlawful taking after an incident at a business on Progress Road, according to Chambersburg Police.

Dec. 11: Alicia Colby Thompson, 25, was charged with one count possession of a controlled substance after she reported to adult probation with the substance, according to Chambersburg Police. 

Cumberland County

Dec. 28: A driver failed to report damage to the authorities after they attempted to turn left near East Old York Road, and allegedly drive off the road and struck a sign at about 1 p.m., according to Pennsylvania State Police. The report shows the vehicle then continued driving while dragging the sign.

Dec. 31: A Hagerstown, Md. woman suffered possible minor injuries during a crash at about 9 p.m. in which she lost control of a Nissan Altima, drove off of Interstate 81 and struck a guide rail, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

Jan. 2: A Chambersburg man was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol during a traffic stop at North Queen Street and East King Street in Shippensburg, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

Jan. 2: Someone reported that another vehicle struck their vehicle and then fled at about 5:19 p.m. at York Road and Westminster Drive, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

Jan. 3: Someone driving a tractor-trailer drove off the road and struck a street sign and a large boulder while turning into a parking lot on Dunwoody Drive at about 2:24 a.m., according to Pennsylvania State Police. 

Jan. 3: There were no injuries after a crash in which a Newville woman driving a Toyota SUV fell asleep at the wheel and drove off the west shoulder on Centerville Road at about 10:30 p.m., according to Pennsylvania State Police. The vehicle then struck a mailbox, drove off the east shoulder of the road, and struck an embankment and a tree, police said. The report shows the operator was later found to be under the influence of a controlled substance.
