Police log: Bomb threat sent to Waynesboro woman; school bus involved in crash

Chambersburg area

Dec. 3: A vehicle backed into another vehicle at 2:22 p.m. in the parking lot of Dollar General, off Lincoln Way West, St. Thomas Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police. 

Dec. 10: Nobody was injured as a result of a two-vehicle crash at 1:42 p.m. at the intersection of Swamp Fox and Horst roads, Guilford Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police. 

Dec. 10: No students were harmed when a school bus struck a car that turned in front of it at 3:46 p.m. on Black Gap Road at Mount Pleasant Road, Greene Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police. The driver of the car, Derek Short, 28, Chambersburg, was taken to Chambersburg Hospital with suspected minor injury. 

Dec. 11: A Chambersburg man left the scene of a crash at about 1:09 p.m. on Scotland Road, Greene Township, in which he lost control on a curve, and the vehicle overturned and slid on its roof for about 50 yards, according to Pennsylvania State Police. 

Dec. 11: A Maryland man was cited with driving at an unsafe speed after he failed to obey a stop sign on Spring Road and crashed into a house at 1602 Mont Alto Road, Guilford Township, at about 6:21 a.m., according to Pennsylvania State Police.

Dec. 13: A Chambersburg man is accused of shoving a woman to the ground, causing her to sustain a separated shoulder, at 12:14 a.m. on Applecross Avenue, Greene Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police. 

Dec. 14: Nobody was injured in a two-vehicle crash at 12:24 p.m. at the intersection of U.S. 30 and Pa. 997, Guilford Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police. 

Dec. 14: Pennsylvania State Police responded at 7:48 p.m. to a residence on Lincoln Way East, Guilford Township, for a report that $400 was stolen from a vehicle. 

Dec. 15: A 15-year-old Fayetteville boy and a 16-year-old Chambersburg boy were processed and released to their parents after they were caught stealing cigars from Neal's Smoke Shop, 1752 Lincoln Way East, Guilford Township, at about 4:35 p.m., according to Pennsylvania State Police. 

Dec. 15: Nobody was injured in a two-vehicle crash at about 9:06 a.m. on Lincoln Way East, Guilford Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police. 

Dec. 17: Seven people, four of them children, were unharmed following a chain-reaction rear-end crash involving three westbound vehicles at about 6:26 p.m. on Lincoln Way East near Falling Spring Road, Guilford Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police. 

Fannett-Metal area

Dec. 8-10: A stop sign, a street name sign, a speed limit sign and a curved road sign were stolen from the area of Creek Road, Metal Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police. 

Mercersburg area

Dec. 8: Kameron Barrick, 19, Ft. Loudon, was charged with DUI after he left the scene of a crash in which he struck a mailbox and two fences at about 11:13 p.m. on Mountain Road, Peters Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

Dec. 12: Nobody was injured as a result of a two-vehicle crash at 5:19 p.m. on Buchanan Trail West at Garnes Road, Montgomery Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police. 

Dec. 17: Pennsylvania State Police responded at about 9 a.m. to a report that a female student was assaulted by another student at James Buchanan High School.

Shippensburg area

Dec. 15: Pennsylvania State Police are investigating a burglary at Best Line Equipment, 8001 Possum Hollow Road, Southampton Township. Video surveillance showed a white 15-passenger van back up through the front glass doors of the building, and two males stole a number of chainsaws and other equipment. 

Waynesboro area

Dec. 13: A bomb threat that demanded the recipient send $20,000 was emailed to a woman in Quincy Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police. Police noted similar threats have been documented elsewhere.

Dec. 15: Kayla Martin, 29, Chambersburg, was charged with harassment of a 78-year-old Quincy Township man, according to Pennsylvania State Police.
