CME dairy prices higher except cheese Tuesday

Milk futures were higher and cash dairy markets were higher except for cheese on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange Tuesday.

December Class Three milk was up $.05 at $13.85.  January was up $.11 to $14.31. February was up $.05 at $14.59.  March was up $.04 at $14.97. The milk futures from April through next November ranged from zero to nine cents higher.

Dry whey was up $.0225 at  $.4725 cents per pound. No sales were recorded.

Forty-pound blocks were unchanged at $1.41 per pound.  No sales were recorded.

Barrels were unchanged at $1.32 per pound.  No sales were recorded.

Grade AA Butter was up $.0150 at $2.20 per pound.  Seven sales were recorded from $2.18 to $2.20.

Nonfat dry milk was up $.0075 at $.9425 per pound.  No sales were recorded.

Prices on the Global Dairy Trade auction were also up for the third straight event Tuesday, with the index up 1.7% and the average price $25 dollars a ton higher at $2,844.
