Idaho farmer has top sorghum yield

An Idaho farmer has the top yield in this year’s National Sorghum Producers yield contest.

Michael Ball’s entry of 219 bushels per acre in the Irrigated-Tillage West category topped the competition. Other category winners from the Brownfield coverage area were David Knoll of South Dakota in the Dryland-No Till West category with a yield of 179 bushels per acre and Mike Baker of Nebraska in the Food-Grade category with a yield of 173 bushels per acre.
