NCGA announces 2018 yield contest winners

The top yield in this year’s National Corn Yield Contest is 478 bushels per acre.

That irrigated yield was produced by Don Stall of Charlotte, Michigan using Pioneer hybrid P0574AM.

The next highest yield came from Kevin Kalb of Dubois, Indiana—388 bushels per acre, non-irrigated—with DEKALB hybrid DKC67-44RIB.

The 18 winners in six production categories had verified yields averaging more than 349 bushels per acre, compared to the projected national average of nearly 179 bushels per acre in 2018.

The contest is conducted by the National Corn Growers Association. For links to all national and state winners, click here.
