On Monday, Tim Dillard signed a minor-league agreement with the Texas Rangers organization, ending his long association with the Milwaukee Brewers. The colorful reliever is best known for cultivating an online following with some highly-produced offerings that showed up on YouTube and other social media platforms.

If you’ve never enjoyed the stylings of Tim Dillard – many of which incorporated his teammates – here’s a good primer. These are the nine most-viewed YouTube videos on the DimTillard account (and there are plenty more where these came from).

The Rules of Wiffle Ball

“Wiff McWifferson” demonstrates exactly what the title suggests, using an effect that makes this look like an old-school movie reel. Plenty of good slapstick herein.

Tim Dillard at Premios Univision Deportes 2017

Dillard doesn’t appear to speak fluent Spanish, but he does like Latin music. So in 2017, he wound up getting featured in a Univision Deportes spot showcasing his lip-syncing abilities, starting with mega-smash “Despacito.” Somehow, that led to him presenting an award at the Univision Awards, where he, of course, closed by lip-syncing again. If there was one moment of randomness that best encapsulated Tim Dillard, this would be it.

Dubsmashing Spot the Raptor

The birth of Brent Suter’s “Raptor” persona dates to this 2016 video, a “dubsmash” in which Dillard offers his re-enacted spin on famous movie clips (while he lip syncs the original audio). In this one, Suter – whose somewhat-offbeat walk garnered him the nickname “Raptor,” makes a series of appearances in the background.

Forever

Dillard convinces his teammates to participate in a bit of a dance party while the camera captures the magic from overhead as Chris Brown’s “Forever” plays. There is a twist ending.

Spring 2010 'Harry Caray' Visits Brewers Camp

Dillard offered his own impersonation of Harry Carey (a riff on Will Ferrell’s version of the longtime Cubs announcer), and this is perhaps his best installment of the bit, working in Brewers players at Major League camp.

Steve Dillard

This is a 13-minute assembly of video clips featuring Tim’s father, Steve, an infielder who played from 1975-82. He hit 13 career home runs, and Tim seems to have tracked down footage from most of those. The best: hearing the familiar music from “The Natural” as Steve Dillard hits a double … and gets thrown out at third trying to stretch it into a triple.

Andas En Mi Cabeza

This is one of those lip-syncing efforts that got him noticed by Univision in the first place. The dude does more acting with his face than any Major League Baseball player before him.

Brewers Night Live

Potentially Dillard's magnum opus, this is a recreation of the famous opening credits from Saturday Night Live, working in a number of Brewers players and scenes from around the city. Even Bob Uecker, David Stearns and Mark Attanasio were in on the bit. And Yadiel Rivera with an intimidating glance.

Cast Away

Dillard’s dubsmash using audio from “Cast Away” is especially tricky given that the movie endures long stretches without dialogue. Needless to say, “Wilson” – a glove, not a volleyball – is prominently featured.
