COMMUNITY BRIEFS DEC. 19 to DEC. 26:

DEC. 22: Dalí Ballet Company of Ruidoso presents three live performances featuring company dancers and guest artists in the classic holiday favorite, Tchaikovsky’s “The Nutcracker” at the Spencer Theatre for the Performing Arts in Alto. Performances are scheduled to 2 p.m. and 7 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 22, and at 2 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 23. For ticket information, call 575-336-4800 or check out the spencertheater.com website.

JAN 2: Alpine Village Sanitation District will hold its regular monthly meeting at 4 p.m., Jan. 7, at 114 Alpine Meadows Trail. This meeting is being held to conduct regular business for the District, such as paying bills and reporting on the operations of the water system.  Additionally, there may be discussion regarding the drilling of a new well and committees to address the Conservation and Drought Contingency Plan and Capacity Assessment. All residents of the District are welcome to attend. Agendas are available at least 24 hours prior to meeting time.  All regular monthly meetings usually are conducted the first Monday of the month.

COMING UP:

JAN. 3: Lincoln County Bird Club conducts its annual Christmas Bird Count Thursday, Jan. 3. Christmas Bird Count is an annual census held under the direction of National Audubon Society during a three-week period. Each Club can select which day during those three weeks to conduct a local census. LCBC has participated in CBC since 1995. Members and guests whether experienced birders or novices who wish to participate may contact LCBC President Jim Edwards (jw_e@beyondb.com) or 575-937-5416.
