The winter sports season kicked off last week, with numerous tip-off tournaments in basketball as well as the opening wrestling and swimming meets of the season. The return of winter sports also means the return of the GameTimePA YAIAA Athletes of the Week.

Each week readers select the athletes of the week in an online poll at ydr.com/gametimepa/ and eveningsun.com/gametimepa/. Readers can select the best athlete in a boys' poll and the best athlete in a girls' poll.
The polls open at 6 a.m. Sunday and close at 5 p.m. Wednesday.
The winners will be announced on GameTimePA social media.
In the boys' poll, readers can choose from Bermudian Springs' Trace Grim, Dover's Elijah Sutton, Dallastown's Joel Dunnigan, Biglerville's Drew Riley, York Tech's Terence Romey and Northeastern's Hunter Bachman.
In the girls' poll, readers can choose from Gettysburg's Cheyenne Proctor, Spring Grove's Megan Heist, York Suburban's Lulu Mooney, Kennard-Dale's Jaedyn McKeon, Dallastown's Samantha Trumble and Susquehannock's Jayla Galbreath.
