Highway 101 traffic in Thousand Oaks delayed by accidents

Staff reports

Friday evening’s commute was rough going through Thousand Oaks as accidents on Highway 101 were impacting traffic in both directions.

The first significant crash was reported on the northbound 101, just south of Moorpark Road, shortly before 5 p.m. That accident involved multiple vehicles and blocked several lanes for a time. At least one vehicle suffered major damage, but only minor injuries were reported.

Over the next half hour, accidents were called in on the northbound 101 near Lynn Road and on the northbound freeway south of Camarillo Springs Road, along the Conejo Grade. Up to five vehicles may have been involved in the incident near Lynn Road. Ambulance crews responded for possible injuries.

Traffic on southbound 101 was also slow in the area.

Firefighters, California Highway Patrol officers and some sheriff’s personnel were responding to the various events and trying to keep the flow of traffic orderly.

Non-injury crashes were also reported in the Camarillo area before 6 p.m., slowing traffic there as well near the Central Avenue and Springville Drive ramps.

This story will be updated as warranted.
