SAN ANGELO — A San Angelo man was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated after a Tuesday crash, according to a news release.

At about 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2018, the San Angelo Police Department responded to a hit-and-run call in the 5500 block of Sherwood Way.

While on their way to the Sherwood location, officers were told a witness was following one vehicle believed to be involved in the crash, according to the release.

Officers were led to a convenience store in the 7400 block of Knickerbocker Road where they found a 2011 Ford pickup believed to have been involved in the crash, according to the release.

Police went to the back of the building where a man could be seen climbing up to the store's rooftop, according to the release.

After they were able to get him down from the roof, officers arrested Andrew East, 25, on suspicion of driving while intoxicated.

East was released from the Tom Green County Jail later that day in lieu of a $1,000 bond.
