Lansing police are investigating after a person was shot in the leg Tuesday night.

LANSING — A man suffered non-life-threatening injuries in a possible drive-by shooting late Tuesday night, police said.

A 31-year-old Lansing man arrived at a local hospital just after midnight Wednesday with a gunshot wound to the leg, Lansing Police Public Information Director Robert Merritt said. The hospital called police to tell them about the shooting.

The man told police he was walking on Willow Street near Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard when an unknown car drove past him and shot at him, Merritt said.

He did not give police any details about the car or person who he said shot at him, Merritt said. Officers weren't able to locate a crime scene or evidence of a shooting in the area where the man said he was.

His injuries were not life threatening, and police are not ruling out that the shooting was accidental or self-inflicted.
