Rockin' Christmas brunch will bring holiday joy home

Tis the season to celebrate family and friends with jamie & aka at Scared Grounds Coffee and Tea House Christmas brunch.
  • This month’s Christmas Gospel Brunch will be a true community coming together with several added musicians.

Tis the season for sitting by a warm fireplace, enjoying a good hot meal accompanied by the sounds of the holidays with the Rockin’ Gospel & Christmas music of Jamie & aka, Dave Millsap, Pete Davis and Joey Evertt. The room will be filled with all that rings in Christmas festivities and joy, 12 p.m., Dec. 23.

This month’s Christmas Gospel Brunch will be a true community coming together with several added musicians. The ever-popular singer and keyboard player James Parker will be joining the band, as well as an amazing and passionate cello player Tim Amyett.

Adding to the festivities, expect a few special cameo appearances, including the fantastic voice of Stacy Skaggs. “We may need a larger stage,” Jamie Estes said.

Stacy Skaggs will bring her angelic voice to the Scared Grounds Christmas Gospel Brunch to midtown Ruidoso.

The live music will continue to be inspirational and invigorating with the toe tapping, fan waving, hand clapping Gospel sounds that everyone has come to love, along with Christmas music to ring in holiday cheer this season. The event will bring friends, family and the community together to Ruidoso’s live music, mountain Christmas celebration.

The jamie & a.k.a. Band features seasoned musicians Jamie Estes on bass and vocals, Dave Millsap lead guitar and vocals, Pete Davis rhythm guitar and vocals, James Parker keyboards and vocals and Joey Everett on drums. They play a variety of genres but are best known for their Blues, Classic Rock, Funk & lively Gospel.

Jamie Estes grew up in Louisiana listening to as well as playing black Gospel, Blues and Funk and those influences are easily evident in his style of playing. Dave Millsap is a well-known guitarist and singer who performed for over 20 years with Delbert McClinton and Albert King.

Pete Davis has a versatile voice and is one of Ruidoso’s favorite rhythm guitarist. James Parker is a phenomenal vocalist and keyboard player who has a growing loyal following in the local community. Joey Everett is an energetic drummer who has been keeping the beat going for many years, playing with numerous bands. 

Tim Amyett is a longtime self-taught Cellist, with a technique and sound that resonates that of a classically trained musician.

This will be a unique Christmas celebration of song as the fireplace will bring warmth inside as the river near by flows and an occasional deer or elk might just pass by making it a memorable and magical holiday celebration. Ruidoso Sunday Gospel Brunch, that now includes a scrumptious Chef Zach All-You-Can-Eat Buffet with a great variety of choices and freshly brewed coffee included.
