A York man was Tasered and arrested Thursday night after he allegedly fought with police officers as they attempted to apprehend him, according to court documents.

West York Police first came into contact with Anthoney Stonesifer when they observed him standing in the middle of the street yelling profanities about police.

“Stonesifer stated many times, in many different fashions, that I better not Tase him and that I do not want to fight with him,” said Officer Victoria Walton of the West York Police Department.

Stonesifer, 21, of the 1800 block of Andrews Street, was charged with aggravated assault, resisting arrest, and public drunkenness in connection with the incident.

Additional officers arrived on the scene and attempted to detain Stonesifer, but he ignored several requests to turn around and place his hands behind his back as they tried to arrest him for public drunkenness, according to court documents.

Police told Stonesifer that he would be pepper sprayed if he continued to walk away, but that did not seem to phase him, according to court documents.

"...spray me," Stonesifer replied.

Officers sprayed Stonesifer’s eyes, and he continued to walk northbound in a parking lot toward West Market Street, according to court documents.

Again, officers attempted to physically detain him, but Stonesifer pulled away almost striking them.

Police told Stonesifer that if he did not stop walking he was going to be Tased.

Stonesifer did not comply, and police deployed their Taser. He fell to the ground after five seconds of tasing but continued to try and kick officers and cursed at them, according to charge documents.

Two sets of handcuffs had to be linked together to restrain Stonesifer, and his ankles were also placed in shackles.

"Take these cuffs off and we can make it a fair fight,” Stonesfier continued, the document states. “I can go for round two."

Eventually, he was placed in a patrol car and transported to York Hospital for evaluation before being taken to York County Central Booking for his arraignment.

Bail has been set at $10,000, and a preliminary hearing is scheduled Dec. 21, according to court documents.
