Fans of the combination that is Eastern Shore traditions with New Orleans cuisine are mourning the loss of the Big Easy on 60.

The Ocean City restaurant, located at 5909 Coastal Highway, closed its doors for good this weekend, making the announcement to customers via Facebook on Saturday, Dec. 8.

"I would like to thank all of our customers over the past few years," the social media post read. "It has been a pleasure serving you however, we will be closing after this weekend to pursue an opportunity that has arisen that will benefit the entire Hall Family. So this your last chance to stop in and enjoy our great food, drinks and staff."

The post encouraged customers to stop in one last time before closing hour on Sunday evening.

"No matter what time of day you stop in you’re sure to have a good time here at The Big Easy on 60. So gather up your family and friends, get here and take it easy," the Facebook post concluded.

Big Easy on 60, owned by Mark Hall, offered customers classic New Orleans dishes with a twist. Hall transformed the buffet-style eatery his family ran for a generation into a more-upscale restaurant about four years ago.
