He'll join fellow incumbents James Flurry, who won re-election in the Nov. 6 election, and Jerry Bowman, who ran unopposed in the earlier contest.

Other members of council, elected Saturday, will be new:

District B: Newcomer LeVette Fuller, a Democrat, won 74 percent of the vote in defeating Republican Wendy Vance.

District C: John Nickelson defeated Patrick Kirton, 57 percent to 43 percent, in a contest between two Republicans, ending one of the nastier Shreveport City Council campaigns in memory.

District D: Grayson Boucher, a Republican, defeated Versa "V.O." Clark, a Democrat. Boucher won 73 percent of the vote.

Also elected to the council on Nov. 6 was James Green, representing District F.
