Buying a house is one of the biggest purchases a person will make in their life. Colin Cameron and Jim Ling know this, so they want the process of buying a home to be special.

This is part of the reason why they made their Hanover-viral videos.

Ling and Cameron, along with their partner Nicole Butcher, are owners of the real estate agency, Small Town Agents.

"Real estate agents really like to talk about themselves. We are tired of talking about ourselves," Cameron said. "Why not just highlight the place we live and have fun with it and try to resonate with people?"

Cameron and Ling posted a video on Facebook before Thanksgiving in which they share what they are thankful for about Hanover. This video got more than 66,000 views.

They posted a second video on Nov. 29 titled, "You know you are from Hanover if..." This video got more than 82,000 views.

The population of Hanover is about 15,000.

The videos pokes fun at Hanover, but only because the agents love it here.

Neither grew up in Hanover, but both love the hometown feel, knowing their neighbors, the parades that happen throughout the year and how the town has two of everything.

Cameron has been making videos for almost three years, and more recently Cameron and Ling have been trying to release a video at least once a week, whether it be a video of them highlighting a local business, learning how to make pizza at Divino Pizzeria and Grille or a video equating buying a house to dating.

Ling said Cameron's mind works really well when it comes to creating video ideas and it's Ling's job to add the "sugar and spice."

"He's very plugged in," Ling said.

Cameron said a lot of the videos are "shower thoughts," or "one-in-the morning thoughts."

The fact that Cameron and Ling are real estate agents is just an afterthought in the video. However, the Small Town Agents want to show people that they are approachable to clients who have to spend a lot of time with them when buying a house.

"A lot of the video is people get to see us and kind of understand our personalities a bit," Ling said.

Buying a house is stressful. Then, on top of that, a person in a suit brings an added pressure to make a commitment in an instant. The Small Town Agents show up in jeans and a T-shirt and "if you want to look at five more houses, it's cool," Cameron said. "We just want to make sure you get the right thing."

Ling, Cameron and Butcher started Small Town Agents in 2017. Their business mainly operates in the greater-Hanover area.
