US beef headed into Morocco

US beef and beef products are headed into Morocco for the first time.  US Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer and Ag Secretary Sonny Perdue say the new market access is a result of the US-Morocco Free Trade Agreement.  Initial estimates project the market to be valued around $80-million for US beef and beef products.

NCBA president Kevin Kester says open markets are the lifeblood of the US cattle and beef industry and new access to Morocco is welcome news.

2018 is the first year US beef and poultry exporters have had access to the market under the FTA.  Morocco opened its market to US poultry in August of this year.
