QBE Shootout: Darius Rucker, Lady Antebellum's Charles Kelley highlight pro-am

Country singers Darius Rucker, left, and Charles Kelley of Lady Antebellum will be playing in the QBE Shootout Pro-Am on Wednesday, Dec. 5 and Thursday, Dec. 6, 2018, in Naples.

The QBE Shootout is going a little bit country for its pro-am this year.

Darius Rucker and Charles Kelley of Lady Antebellum will play in both days of the pro-am of the PGA Tour-sanctioned tournament next week, as Greg Norman's event celebrates its 30th year.

“Both Darius and Charles have a relationship with our official automotive sponsor Mercedes-Benz," Shootout tournament director Rob Hartman said. "Thanks to the support of our partners at Mercedes, we are able to welcome these special guests to Naples for our 30th anniversary celebration.  We are thrilled to offer such an experience to our pro-am participants and spectators who attend the pro-am rounds Wednesday and Thursday.”

ESPN's Chris Berman once again will return in the pro-am, as will Fox News Channel's Bret Baier. The pro-am is Wednesday and Thursday, and Norman, who hasn't played in his tournament in a few years, will again play in the pro-am, though.

Country music band Lady Antebellum singer Charles Kelley hits his bunker shot on the ninth hole during the second round of the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am golf tournament at Spyglass Hill Golf Course in 2017. Kelley will be playing in the QBE Shootout Pro-Am in Naples on Wednesday, Dec. 5 and Thursday, Dec. 6, 2018.

Rucker, a three-time Grammy Award winner from Charleston, South Carolina, has been a longtime supporter of golf, organizing and participating in numerous annual fundraising events throughout his career. Kelley, a founding member of the Grammy Award-winning Lady Antebellum, is a native of Augusta, Georgia, and also an avid golfer. Kelley has played in the PGA Tour's AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am for a few years.

Both will be playing in the pro-am for the first time, while Berman, who is playing for the 15th year, and Baier have been supporters of the QBE Shootout for many years.

Tickets are on sale, starting at $30 for grounds tickets. Hospitality venues the Naples Beach Brew House and Greg Norman Estates Shark Club are available for $90 and $300, respectively.
