The Disney World Value Resorts are: Disney’s All Star Movies, All Star Music, All Star Sports, Art of Animation and Pop Century. Of these 5, All Star Music and Art of Animation offer family suites, sleeping up to 6 (+ one child under 3). Otherwise the resort rooms hold 4 guests (+ one child under 3).
Learn these 6 cons of staying at a Disney Value Resort and decide if it’s for you. For guests who plan on spending the majority of their time in the parks, a Value Resort is a more than accommodating option for your Disney World stay. Value Resorts still give guests all the added benefits of stay on-site.
6 Cons Of Staying At A Disney Value Resort:
Shared Busses
It is known that All Star Movies, Music & Sports share busses due to their close proximity. Even though they have gotten better, it does still happen. Art of Animation and Pop Century do not share busses.
Groups
All Star Movies, Music & Sports attract sports & school groups. This means there could be a large group of cheerleaders at your resort (and at the bus stops) or other group, depending on time of year. This does not occur at Pop Century, Art of Animation or Moderate and Deluxe resorts.
In Your Face Disney Theming
Walk around a Moderate or Deluxe Disney Resort and find beautifully landscaped grounds with subtle Disney touches. Walk around a Disney Value Resort and find larger than life Disney statues and color overload. While the Value Resorts are incredibly themed with fun photo opportunities, they do not offer the most relaxing setting.
On-Site Food Options
Disney’s Value Resorts each offer a food court accommodating breakfast, lunch, dinner and late night dining. The food courts offer a nice variety, sure to please everyone in your group from the various stations offered. A bar near the main pool is also offered. However, this is the only on-site dining Value guests will find. Where as Moderate and Deluxe Disney Resorts will feature dining options such as lounges and sit-down restaurants, or even a Character meal.
Resort Size
Expect a standard room size of a Value Resort to be roughly 260 sq ft. Where as a moderate resort is 30% bigger. In addition to room size, the actual Value resorts themselves tend to be large and spread out, making a preferred room (closer to food court, bus stop) worth it.
Pools
All Disney Resorts offer amazing pools. In fact, the pool found at Art of Animation named the Big Blue Pool is the largest on Disney Property. However, one con of the Value Resort pools is they do not contain a water slide. Where as at Moderate & Deluxe resorts guests will find a waterslide at the main pool. If pool time is important to you or your children, unlimited complimentary waterslide rides is a perk.
