If your teeth are chattering on Thursday and you're not even at the dinner table yet, blame it on the arctic temperatures strolling across central Pennsylvania.

On Thanksgiving Day, the National Weather Service reports, there will be a high of 29 and a low of 18.

"The holiday is also expected to feature the most frigid air so far this season, making it feel more like Christmas Day than Thanksgiving," the AccuWeather website reports.

Bitterly cold temperatures are expected to arrive in central Pennsylvania on Thanksgiving.

Between five and 11 mph winds will pick up during the day along with gusts as high as 26 mph, according to the NWS website.

Meteorologist David Martin with NWS says temperatures like this were seen in 1989 when a high of 31 was recorded in central Pennsylvania on Thanksgiving.

As for the low temperature headed our way Thursday night, Martin says we will be close to the low of 16 on Thanksgiving in 1964.

Wind chills in the morning could make those 20s feel like the teens.

It will reportedly be "sunny" as well, so that should offset some of the cold. Or, the mere sight of the sun could remind you of warmer times as you find solace in your bubble jacket and scarf.

Martin explained that you have to keep in mind that Thanksgiving doesn't fall on the same day each year.

All in all, the temperatures will be colder than normal, so be sure to tell folks coming from out of town that they should bundle up.
