Winter moves into Michigan

Wet weather and some snow continue to delay the completion of harvest in Michigan.

The USDA says less than three days were suitable for fieldwork last week.  Corn harvest is 74 percent complete, now behind last year and the five-year average.  Soybeans are 83 percent harvested, behind last year and average.

Sugarbeet harvest is 93 percent complete.  Winter wheat planting is 96 percent complete with 81 percent of the crop emerged.
