It’s the week of Thanksgiving and time for a menu plan!
Happy Almost Thanksgiving!
Is anyone else SHOCKED that it’s literally a few days before Thanksgiving? I am still stuck somewhere in between the 4th of July and Labor Day…how is it Thanksgiving?
It’s coming though, just a few days away.
One thing I love about this week is that my kids get the full week out of school. Many schools in our area do a fall break, then 3 days out for Thanksgiving.
Instead of fall break, ours do Thanksgiving Break in the same way as spring break. I happen to love it. It gives us time to do some fun stuff earlier in the week before all that cooking.
I’ve strategically tried to plan ahead so that my work during the day is minimal and we can do crafts, park adventures, and other things during the day together.
Do you host Thanksgiving?
We are hosting it this year too, that means I’m also trying to prep ahead as much as possible too. I opted to do Thanksgiving earlier in the day than we usually do because let’s face it, we all wait all day to eat until that big meal!
That means by the time dinner rolls around, we are starving. So we decided to do it closer to lunchtime than dinnertime.
We’ll see how it goes, but I think it’ll be better all around.
It also gives us time to play games and just spend some family time together.
I am keeping Thanksgiving in mind as we plan out the menu because I know for us we will have leftovers. I ALWAYS over plan so we end up with leftovers for days.
I think I may even do a Turkey Pot Pie on Friday too instead of the Chicken Pot Pie, which has become a staple around here.
Are you ready to plan out this menu? Let’s get to it!
