Shooting forced closure of northbound I-43 near Fond du Lac Avenue during Friday rush

Two people were shot in a road rage incident on I-43 near Walnut Street on Friday afternoon, the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office said.

The shooting resulted in the closing of northbound lanes for a few hours during the evening commute while deputies searched for evidence including shell casings, a Sheriff's Office news release said.

The two people who were struck by gunfire were taken to a hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening, the release said.

The Sheriff's Office continues to investigate.
