Two teenage brothers who were missing from Anderson County have been found safe in Georgia, investigators said Thursday.

Harry Hawkins, 15, and Jeremiah Hawkins, 13, were found in Newton County, Georgia with their mother,  Malaka Scott, who did not have legal custody of the boys, according to the Anderson County Sheriff's Office. Steve Combs, a spokesman for the Sheriff's Office, said the boys were found with their mother during a traffic stop.

The boys disappeared from Pendleton, where they live with their grandmother. The Sheriff's Office and the State Law Enforcement Division distributed information about the boys Wednesday, asking for anyone with knowledge of their whereabouts to contact investigators.
