Liberals relieved that Michael Avenatti's presidential prospects are over after news of alleged domestic violence
News & Politics

Michael Avenatti has allegedly been arrested on suspicion of domestic violence, according to NBC News and multiple other outlets. The attorney for Stormy Daniels was a constant cable TV news guest for months, as he built his case against President Trump. For a while some were wondering if he might make a good president.

That was until Avenatti himself started expressing interest.

It was at that point the left left Avenatti.

As news stories announced he was visiting the usual places potential presidential candidates go to get to know donors and voters, his popularity dropped.

It hit bottom around the time he announced that only a white man could take on President Trump.

“I think it better be a white male,” Avenatti told TIME.

“When you have a white male making the arguments, they carry more weight,” he added. “Should they carry more weight? Absolutely not. But do they? Yes.”

Avenatti’s chances dropped to zero at that point. Yet he did not take the hint.

Minutes after TMZ reported Avenatti “has been arrested for felony domestic violence … law enforcement sources tell TMZ,” the Vermont Democratic Party canceled scheduled events with him this weekend.

Meanwhile, on social media, well-known political mavens from the left – Democrats, liberals, and progressives – expressed relief that Avenatti’s presidential hopes had just gone up in smoke. Actress and #MeToo Activist Alyssa Milano:
